Fushoushan Oolong
Availability: In Stock
Fushoushan originates from the most fertile primeval forest in the high mountains of Taiwan. The soil does not have the pollution, also does not have the insect pest. There, in an elevation higher than 2600 meters, encircled within clouds and fog most of the afternoon, the climate keeps the leaf blades moist and cool. This allows the new born leaves to grow and unfurl very slowly. The benefit of these growing conditions stores the most natural rich Vitamins and nourishing trace elements and, in turn, concentrates more fragrance and bouquet. Locals only collect and process two issues in May and June and September and October. This makes Fushoushan the most rare and sought after source of tea by the finest tea makers in all of Taiwan! The taste is a full-bodied flavor with a sweet & fruity fragrance. To some, there's no better tea in the world! In fact, it is served to visiting Presidents.
Brewing Instructions:
Steeping of this tea should use 2.25 grams of tea per 170ml of water, or about two teaspoons of oolong tea per cup. Oolong teas should be prepared with 180 to 190 °F (82 to 88 °C) water (not boiling) and steeped 3–4 minutes. High quality oolong can be brewed several times from the same leaves and, unlike other teas, it improves with reuse. It is common to brew the same leaves three to five times, the third or fourth steeping usually being the best.
